Dinosaurs were the dominant terrestrial vertebrates for over 160 million years, from the late Triassic period (about 230 million years ago) until the end of the Cretaceous (about 65 million years ago). here are some Interesting Facts on these Creatures :-

1. The first dinosaur to be named was Megalosaurus. It was named in 1824 by Reverend William Buckland. Megalosaurus means ‘great lizard’ and it was about 9 metres long, and 3 metres tall.

4. The first dinosaurs evolved in the middle to late Triassic period, about 230 million years ago. It was only at the beginning of the Jurassic period, about 200 million years ago, that dinosaurs began their rise to dominance.

5. The Chicxulub impact crater created by asteroid is thought to be 65 million years old. It is also thought to be the source of the climate changes that led to the extinction of all of the dinosaurs.

6. We know about dinosaurs because fossils have been found. The fossils, which are generally found in sedimentary rocks, including fossilized body parts (bones, teeth, skin, claws, etc.), as well as trace fossils which show how the animals lived.
